Application and matriculation

 In order to study at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences on an exchange programme, you must first be nominated by your home university. Once you have been nominated, you will receive all further information and access to the online application portal. There you must upload your CV, a passport photo, the Transcript of Records and the Learning Agreement.

The application deadlines are 31 May for the winter semester (studies start in September) and 30 November for the summer semester (studies start in March). Please note that late or incomplete applications may have an impact on accommodation placement.

Procedure

Please note: As a rule, an exchange can only take place with a partner university of the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. 

In order to apply to Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences, you must first be nominated by your university.

After a successful nomination, all necessary information for the further application procedure will be sent by e-mail.

You will receive a link to our online application portal, where you will need to upload the following documents, among others:

  • CV in tabular form
  • Passport photo
  • Transcript of records from your home university
  • Learning Agreement (Eramus applicants: digital via Mobility Tool of the home university, all other applicants will receive a template in the online application portal)

If your application is successful, you will receive your ‘study place offer’ and initial information for your stay abroad in Neubrandenburg.

Knowledge of languages

As an incoming student, you do not need to provide proof of language proficiency. However, we recommend language level B1, as lectures are held in German and in some Master's degree programmes in English.

Deadlines

The application deadline is 31 May for the winter semester (start of studies in September) and 30 November for the summer semester (start of studies in March).

The application deadlines must be adhered to! If applications are submitted late or incomplete, accommodation can no longer be guaranteed and you may have to organise your own accommodation.

Arrival in Neubrandenburg

Welcome to the University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg! To get you off to a good start, we have summarised all the important steps for your stay. Log in to the WLAN, activate your university account and enjoy internet access on the entire campus - including in the halls of residence. Move into your flat and sign the tenancy agreement, take care of registering with the city and apply for your tax ID. For international students, there is also important information about visas and the immigration office. Take advantage of our networking events and stay up to date via social media. Your start at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences will be easy - and we are here for you!

Matriculation

Your contact person at the Enrolment and Examination Office depends on your degree programme. You can find contact details here. After your first registration at the Enrolment and Examination Office and the welcome at the International Office, you will receive further information for your first steps towards registering with the authorities. You will only receive your certificate of enrolment once you have transferred the semester fee and submitted a passport photo.

Tip: To save yourself and the Enrolment and Examination Office time, you should take care of the following things before you arrive:

  • Transfer of the semester fee 
  • Pay attention to the e-mail from the university and activate the university account immediately 
  • Download the Eduroam app
  • Take out German health insurance
