Release the inbox or other mailboxes
Advantages of release vs. forwarding / automatic absence notification:
- Once regulated, this is permanent;
- also works in the event of unplanned absences;
- Misconfigurations are ruled out;
- Risks and side effects for the university - and you personally - are excluded;
- You retain control over your e-mail account; with careful regulation, there is no need to take over your account for 'important business reasons'.
The unhindered flow of information is guaranteed - without unnecessary work.
You can - after consultation and regulation in your area of responsibility - authorise other members of the university, such as representatives/chairpersons, to access your inbox (and possibly other boxes) (see below); in each case with 'read only' or 'write' rights.
They must subscribe/de-subscribe to your boxes independently (cannot be done subsequently by others).
The authorisations can remain permanently activated! Whether your boxes are subscribed to is in the hands of those authorised to subscribe. Advantage: See above.
It can also be useful to grant a power of attorney in the event of your unplanned absence.
Approvals are made on the webmail interface, you can find this function under: Login --> Mail -> right mouse button on the directory, see image
